Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
The short version: today, the free app keeps your case data in your browser on this device — it does not upload custody, income, or settlement numbers to our servers. We collect anonymous page-view analytics so we know if anyone is using this. Pro (coming) will add an optional login and encrypted cloud backup so you can restore your case on another device. Encrypted backup is not live yet; this page describes the free default that ships today and the Pro option we intend to offer.
1. Free / default: device-only
Unless you opt into Pro cloud backup when that feature is enabled:
- We don't require an account to use the free app.
- Your custody schedules, incomes, support amounts, proposals, assets, debts, and projections live in your browser's localStorage. That data never leaves your device unless you deliberately export it or create a share link.
- We don't have a server-side database of your plaintext case data today, and we don't want one for free users.
- We don't track you across the web. No Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no third-party ad networks.
- We don't sell your case data. Free users: we don't hold it. Pro cloud (when enabled): we would hold encrypted blobs, not readable case contents.
2. What we do collect today
Anonymous page-view analytics (Vercel Analytics)
Every time someone loads the site, our hosting provider (Vercel) records: which page was loaded, referring URL, country, device type, browser. No cookies, no IP address storage, no personal identifiers. We use this to see how many people visit and whether the site is growing.
Payment information (Stripe, only if you buy Pro / Prepared Parent)
If you purchase Pro, our payment processor
Stripe collects your name, email, and payment method to process the transaction and send you a receipt. We see: your name, email, and the fact that you paid. We never see your card number or bank info — Stripe handles all of that. Pro purchase still goes through Stripe whether or not you later enable encrypted cloud backup.
Support emails
If you email us (e.g., for a refund), we obviously have your email and whatever you wrote. We use it to respond to you and nothing else.
3. Your data on this device today
Everything you enter into the app — custody schedules, income figures, support amounts, proposals, assets, debts, settlement terms, and names of saved proposals — is stored in your browser's localStorage. It doesn't travel to us unless you deliberately create an export or share link. If you clear your browser data, it's gone from that device.
If you use the "share link" feature, your data gets encoded into the URL itself (as base64 in the hash). We don't see that URL unless you share it with us. The recipient can see everything you encoded.
4. Pro (coming): optional account + encrypted cloud backup
This section describes a planned Pro capability. Encrypted cloud backup, login, and cross-device restore are not shipped yet. When enabled, the core Pro promise is: you can log in, back up an encrypted copy of your case, and restore it on another device so your work is still there.
- Optional. Free remains device-only localStorage. Cloud backup is opt-in for Pro, not required to model on one device.
- Encryption model. Case data is encrypted on your device before upload (client-side encryption). We intend to store only the encrypted blob plus the account email needed for authentication — not plaintext custody schedules, incomes, support amounts, assets, debts, or settlement terms.
- What we would store: account email (for login), purchase/entitlement signals we already get via Stripe, and encrypted backup blob(s) you choose to sync.
- What we would not store: readable (plaintext) copies of your custody, finances, or settlement workbook.
- Deletion. You can delete cloud backups and request account deletion; we will remove associated encrypted blobs and account records we control, subject to Stripe's financial-record retention for purchase history. Clearing browser data still removes the local copy on that device.
- Purchase. Paying for Pro / Prepared Parent continues through Stripe. Buying Pro does not by itself upload your case; backup happens only when the feature is live and you choose to use it.
Until that feature ships, claims elsewhere that say "your data stays on this device" remain accurate for the live product. We will update this page again when backup goes live.
5. Cookies
The app uses browser localStorage (technically not a cookie) to persist your settings and Pro status. We do not use tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics is cookieless. Stripe's checkout page may set its own cookies during payment — we don't control those; see Stripe's privacy policy. Future Pro login may use session cookies or similar auth storage limited to keeping you signed in — not for advertising.
6. Children
The app isn't designed for or directed at children under 13. If you're modeling custody of children under 13, that's different — you're an adult entering data about your kids. Please don't put your kids' full names or personal details into this tool.
7. Your rights
For device-only use, you already control your case data in the browser. If you want us to:
- Delete local app data: clear your browser's site data for this site (browser Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → choose "Cookies and other site data" for onepagecase.com). Everything the free app knows about your case lives in localStorage and is gone the moment you clear it.
- Delete your Stripe record: email us and we'll request deletion from Stripe (subject to their financial record retention requirements).
- Get a copy of what we have on you: email us. Today, in most cases it's just your purchase record. When Pro cloud backup exists, we can confirm account email and that encrypted blobs exist; we cannot reconstruct plaintext case contents from those blobs.
- Delete a Pro account / cloud backups (when offered): use in-product deletion if available, or email us; we will remove account and backup records we control as described above.
8. Changes
If we ever start collecting something new, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date changed. We won't slip new data collection in quietly.
The July 27–28, 2026 update was the rename from Our Family Lizard to One Page Case: the product name, the domain in the deletion instructions above, and a line naming Golden Data LLC as the company behind it. Nothing about what we collect changed then.
The September 7, 2026 update documents the planned Pro core promise — optional login and client-side-encrypted cloud backup for restore on another device — while stating clearly that sync is not live yet and free remains device-only.
